Northern Ireland Classic 2-01

Golf Courses

Full practice facilities

Castlerock is a fabulous links course set among rolling sand dunes. Its scenic qualities embrace the River Bann flowing out to the Atlantic, eye-catching views of Donegal and on a clear day towards Scotland and the Isle of Islay. An ideal retreat in which to play golf.

The Championship course, Mussenden Links is a true test of golf even for the advanced player.

The Dunluce Links is rated as one of the most challenging and spectacular links courses in the world and has undergone major changes as part of preparations for the 148th Open. Perhaps the most famous hole here is "Calamity Corner," a long par 3 featuring a steep dropoff short and right of the green. Spectacularly bunkered with narrow fairways and doglegs, Portrush is a supreme test of ball-striking, in particular when the wind is blowing off the northern coast.

A ‘true test of golf’ is a much overused phrase, but in this case it is a reflection of the variety and ingenuity of the shots required to get round this masterpiece of a golf course. The views from almost every hole are quite simply, magical. The Atlantic is never very far away and the beauty of the course has to be seen to be believed. It is a treat that will take a very long time, if ever, to fade from the golfer’s memory. The jewel in the Portstewart crown.

Driving net & putting green

Ardglass Golf Club, home of the world's oldest clubhouse dating back to 1405AD. Ardglass Golf Course is an 18 hole links course in a natural setting hugging the north-east coast of Ireland, with stunning views, unique golf holes and memorable people. With the almost ever-present wind capable of wreaking havoc from any quarter; the hard fairways and the small firm greens, it is just about impossible to play “yardage based” golf on this links.

Royal County Down is located in one of the world’s most naturally beautiful links settings in the Murlough Nature Reserve. Against the magnificent backdrop of the Mountains of Mourne, the links stretches along the shores of Dundrum Bay, zigzagging back and forth to provide a different vista from virtually every hole.

Consistently voted #1 course in the world.

Founded in 1892, County Louth Golf Club, or Baltray as it is more commonly known, has established itself as one of Ireland’s finest links courses.

"Baltray is probably my favorite links course in Ireland ... It's just a great test. All the holes run in different directions so you have a different exam paper on each hole"

Paul McGinley
